Waking up in the pre-dawn light and wandering outside at Phinda Private Game Reserve in South Africa, it took a few moments to register what I was seeing. Literally hundreds upon hundreds of these amazing spider webs were blanketing the dewy grass all around me.
I was pleased that I had my camera in my pocket as an hour or two later when the sun was fully up, like magic all of the webs were gone.
Just one more of nature’s little marvels, I guess.
PS: Even though it’s still Friday in much of the northern hemisphere, it’s Saturday morning here in Melbourne and I’m typing this to the backdrop of a hyper-excited three year old playing with his new presents. Merry Christmas, one and all. Here’s to a fantastic 2010, and an even better 2011…
