A little over a year ago I was in the US, using a couple of conferences in Denver and Portland as an excuse to see the countryside in between.
With several long day hikes lined up, we decided to break ourselves in with a fairly short hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park one afternoon.
It wasn’t a difficult climb, just to the top of a low ridgeline and back along a nice wide trail, and only took a couple of hours. It would probably have taken even less than that if we hadn’t kept stopping every few minutes for a photo break.
And the landscape only got prettier from here…
