Enroute to the waterfalls of the Colombia Gorge last week, we stopped off at a little town called Troutdale. There’s basically one main street, full of antique shops, gift shops and antique gift shops.
It was vaguely charming, in a kitsch kind of way, and we wandered around distractedly for a while drinking over-priced root beer and trying not to laugh at the earnestly mundane quotes printed on blackboards in the general store.
The standout highlight for me, though, was definitely this enormous moose sculpture.
I mean, it kind of had to be, right?
