The Friday Photo #90 – Shellfish on the rocks

Shellfish on the rocks, Vancouver Island

Most of my photos on this site are of the wide sweeping vista variety for whatever reason, but occasionally I do find the macro function on the camera.

Walking along a deserted beach on Vancouver Island I spotted these hundreds of shellfish clinging to every available spot on a large overhanging rock.  Dark and damp, their little corner of the world was a far cry from the hot sun and swirling sand only a few metres away.

If you enjoyed this post please share it with your friends - it only takes a second but it makes a huge difference to me!

Microclimates along the coastline – they can be so interesting, varied and constantly changing. Great photo!
