The Friday Photo #77 – Home sweet home (nearly)

Old city walls, Chiang Mai

In preparation for my impending move to Chiang Mai, Thailand for a few months I figured this photo from my time there last year was rather appropriate.

Remnants of the old protective walls line the moat that forms a square around the Old City.  These ones are pretty close to Chiang Mai Gate – scene of many a fantastic meal at the night market.  I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.  Not long to go…

It looks like a really nice view - something for you to look forward to.
It is strange how places can look like another - both of us said "Naarden" a little town outside of Amsterdam that Stephen & Rebecca took us to. That too had a fortified wall across the moat and looked very similar to Chiang Mai.

I have a feeling the similarities might end there, just quietly ... but yeah, I do agree about places in different parts of the world that look similar. :)

Looking forward to having you back, Drifting! We'll introduce you to great eateries beyond CM gate, too! ;-)
