The Friday Photo #69 – Karsting off in Thailand

Karst near Phuket

Continuing on with my theme of abysmal puns in Friday photos (see: exhibit A), I present this picture of a large chunk of limestone somewhere near Phuket.

You see, this particular kind of rock formation is known as a karst, and can be seen throughout South East Asia.  It’s one of my abiding memories of the place.

I took this photo from the deck of the yacht that I was learning to sail on, just after we’d cast off from anchoring for a swim in a shallow inlet.

See what I did there?  Karst.  Cast.

Hmmm.

Wow.

Tough crowd.

Lovely photo mate. I was just on the water a few days ago and these little islands are everywhere.

Yup, it's somewhere near there ... not sure exactly where I was at the time, but definitely in that area. :)
