I grew up in a country that was just packed with … well … nature. New Zealand is so full of mountains, rivers, forests and beaches that it’s sometimes hard to find any people at all.
Finding somewhere else that felt the same wasn’t something that I ever expected to do – which is one of the reasons why a recent road trip around Vancouver Island was so rewarding. This photo was taken within spitting distance of the main highway, and yet it felt pretty much like being in the middle of nowhere.
A totally wonderful feeling indeed.
