The Friday Photo #146 – Fern on the trail in Raglan

Fern at Solscape Eco Retreat, Raglan

I’m staying at Solscape right now, an eco-friendly hostel overlooking Manu Bay near Raglan on New Zealand’s North Island.  It’s a wonderful place, with all kinds of quirky accommodation ranging from railway carriages to tipis, mud houses to camp sites.  Frankly, I wish I was going to be here a whole lot longer.

It’s a five minute walk through native bush from the main area to where the tipis are, in a secluded little site with solar power and water from a nearby stream.  Along the way, I literally walked into this fern frond hanging out over the path and just had to take a photo.

A small moment of beauty, in a small country that’s full of them.

Celebrated christmas in Raglan two years ago, and totally fell in love with the place. Hope to be back there some day. Nice picture by the way;)
