The Friday Photo #125 – Holy Trinity Church, Sighisoara

Holy Trinity Church, Sighisoara

If you’d never been to the small town of Sighisoara and had just read about it in a guidebook, you’d assume that the citadel was the only thing the place had going for it.

Don’t get me wrong, the citadel is very impressive, and well worth spending quite some time in.  It’s not the only game in town, though – far from it.  Just on the other side of the river lay this magnificent Neo-Byzantine church, the white walls gleaming in the bright sunlight.

Yet another beautiful building in a town that was full of them.
