
Spread over two million square kilometres of the South Pacific Ocean, the Cook Islands are made up of 15 small atolls and tropical islands. Palm trees line the beachfront, the water is crystal clear and the sand so bright you need sunglasses to look at it for more than a few seconds.
The main island of Rarotonga is where all international flights will arrive, offering a variety of accommodation and is the most lively of the islands when it comes to nightlife If your idea of paradise is something a little more secluded, however, check out somewhere like the island of Aitutaki – it’s an easy 40 minute flight north of Rarotonga.

Since the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden to Daniel Westling in 2010 and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, to Catherine Middleton in 2011, royal wedding fever has been sweeping the world. In just a few weeks another fairytale wedding will be celebrated in Sweden, as Princess Madeleine is set to marry British-American financier Christopher O-Neill at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm on June 8.

I hadn’t really quite known what to expect as we boarded the bus and headed south. Fresh from ten days exploring the wonders of Istanbul (now officially one of my favourite cities in the world), and a week lazing beside the pool in Selcuk, we were finally making our way down to the southern coast of Turkey for a couple of weeks of sailing, drinking and working on our tans with a bunch of friends.
