Destination: Tasmania – road trip paradise

IMG_0579

In early 2010 I took voluntary redundancy from my job and took the opportunity to do something much more fun – travel!  In this case I loaded my car and myself onto the ferry and took off for a 10 day road trip around Tasmania, Australia’s smallest and southernmost state.  In a loop that took in Devonport and Launceston in the north, Hobart and Port Arthur in the south and the Bay of Fires in the east, not to mention a side trip to the Cradle Mountain national park, this trip had it all.  Cosmopolitan capital, beautiful beaches, stunning forests, short distances and fantastic driving – Tasmania is the perfect road trip destination.
